18 April 2014, Sri Lanka. Mirco cars ltd, Geely’s distributor in Sri Lanka opened its new assembly plant in Polgahawela after a long preparation. Attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Mr. Mahinda Rajapaska, President of Sri Lanka, as well as government officials Dr. Sarath Amunugama, International Monetary Cooperation Senior Minister and Deputy Finance Minister, Mr. Rishard Bathiudeen. The Vice President of Geely International Corporation, Mr. Wang Xiuwen also joined this ceremony on Geely’s behalf.

Mr. President and his team visited the new plant where the first automatic assembly and inspection line was installed in Sri Lanka to assemble SKD of Geely cars. After a test drive of a brand-new Emgrand 7, they all raised high expectations for Geely’s development in Sri Lanka.
