Atlas Market Launch

27th February 2018, Moscow, Russia. Geely Auto Group’s (Geely Auto) flagship SUV, the Geely Bo Yue has launched in Russia under the Atlas nameplate.

The newly launched Geely Atlas is manufactured in the recently opened BELGEE plant. The BELGEE plant, located in Borisov, Belarus, is the first automotive joint venture between China and Belarus. Geely together with Belaz, the world’s second largest mining machinery manufacturer, and SOYUZ, the Belarus national parts company jointly invested over 330 million USD in the vehicle plant covering an area of 118 hectares with a planned capacity of 60,000 vehicles per year.

Speaking at the launch event, Belarus First Deputy Minister of Industry, Svidersky Gennady Bronislavovich said, “We are grateful for the active cooperation between the Chinese and the Belarussian government. We have succeeded in building an efficient, modern “BELGEE” factory in record time. I believe that Geely will able to strategically transform the Russian market and achieve market success, together we will work to make that happen.”

Following China’s “Belt and Road” Initiative, Geely Auto has actively expanded its overseas markets in recent years and successfully created an international industrial footprint. As the flagship SUV model of Geely’s 3rd generation of vehicles, the Atlas is an important product in Geely’s globalization strategy. The Bo Yue has become a hit with consumers globally due to its industry leading smart connectivity, smart safety, and smart comfort. Since its launch in China in March 2016, it has become the one of the leading domestic SUV offerings with average monthly sales reaching 30,000 units and over 420,000 satisfied users. The Bo Yue is the first model produced at the BELGEE plant and has become the new symbol of “Made in China” products with exquisite design and leading craftsmanship.
