In the frantic race toward electrification, each conversation usually starts and ends with an electrified vehicle’s range. But as the market matures fast, vehicle intelligence becomes the new battleground.
At the forefront of this shift is Geely, introducing a new generation of intelligent plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), engineered on dedicated hybrid architecture rather than bolting a battery into an ICE vehicle.
The company said its approach prioritizes intelligent integration over conventional hybrid retrofitting. Built on its Global Energy Architecture (GEA), Geely’s system integrates hardware and software into a unified platform designed to optimize efficiency and vehicle performance.
According to the automaker, this architecture enables real-time communication between vehicle systems, allowing power delivery and fuel usage to be managed more precisely.
Meet the 11-in-1 ‘Super Brain’
The physical heart of this shift is a piece of engineering called the 11-in-1 intelligent drive unit that consolidates major powertrain components—including motors, transmission, and cooling systems—into a single compact module.
By housing everything in one unit, the car achieves up to 92.5% efficiency by reducing energy losses typically found in separated systems.
Geely said the system automatically manages transitions between electric and fuel power depending on driving conditions, including stop-and-go traffic and uphill climbs.
A Fortress for the Road: Intelligent Battery Safety
Safety in these next-gen super hybrids begins with the battery. Using “short blade” battery cells, the system is designed to improve structural stability than traditional cell formats.
The system is built to survive extreme testing, including seawater immersion—a vital consideration given the country’s frequent monsoon floods. Beyond physical toughness, the battery is integrated directly into the car’s frame using Cell-to-Body (CTB) technology. This makes the entire vehicle stiffer and more stable, providing a reinforced protective cage for the battery while improving handling on those long winding provincial roads.

Your High-Tech Co-Pilot: Advanced ADAS
On the road, intelligence shifts toward active protection through a sophisticated suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), utilizing up to 31 sensors that provide a 360-degree safety zone around the vehicle.
Safety features like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Keep Assist, a 540-degree “transparent chassis” view, and Door Open Warning is also a lifesaver for tight city parking or navigating the narrow streets of Metro Manila, allowing you to see obstacles directly under the vehicle.

The Comfortable “Third Living Space”
Geely has designed the interior of the super hybrid to center around the Flyme Auto OS, an entertainment system designed to be as fast as a high-end smartphone. With a massive 15.4-inch HD display and a 16-speaker immersive audio system—including headrest speakers—your car becomes a “third living space” for those long hours stuck in traffic.
Comfort is further elevated by 5+1 layer seat technology, featuring ventilation and massage functions to keep you fresh during a sweltering afternoon drive.
A New Standard
Most PHEVs on the country’s roads today are still based on traditional ICE car designs and systems.
Geely’s latest models reflect a broader industry shift toward purpose-built hybrid architectures that combine electrification with software-driven intelligence.
