The all-electric Geely EX5 and hybrid Okavango delivers two key driving needs in the Philippines—urban efficiency and family versatility.

June 30, 2025, QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Geely Motor Philippines is accelerating its product resurgence with the launch of two new energy vehicles in their line-up: the all-electric Geely EX5 and the hybrid Okavango Elite. The event marks a milestone in bringing new energy products since adopting a direct subsidiary model last February.

The event reaffirmed Geely Philippines’ commitment to a diversified technology strategy, covering four powertrain paths: battery electric vehicles (BEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), mild hybrid electric vehicles (MHEV), and traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) models. The company also announced that it plans to complete the full lineup of these technologies by the end of 2025.

In addition, Geely Philippines confirmed that it has stocked over USD 5 million worth of parts in its own warehouse, and is continuing to work closely with dealers to provide more timely and efficient after-sales service across the country.

The launch also featured announcements of enhanced dealer support policies and customer care programs aimed at further enriching user value and improving ownership experience.

“This new chapter is about putting the driver first—with vehicles built for real-world roads and everyday routines,” said Sylva Yu, CEO of Geely Motor Philippines. “Whether it’s the quiet torque of the EX5 or the hybrid practicality of the Okavango Elite, we’re delivering performance, comfort, and adaptability that Filipino motorists will immediately feel.”

Geely EX5: Smart, Quiet, and Fully Electric

The EX5, Geely’s first all-electric SUV in the Philippines, is priced at PHP 1,799,000. It represents Geely’s vision of a next-generation SUV, structured across five key dimensions: new energy, safety, comfort, intelligence, and design.

New Energy: The EX5 runs on Geely’s short blade battery and an 11-in-1 intelligent electric drive system. It charges from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes and achieves excellent energy efficiency via IGBT optimization—ideal for urban driving routines.

Safety: Dual 5-star crash ratings from Euro NCAP and ANCAP speak to its global safety credentials. The CTB (cell-to-body) structure enhances structural integrity, while its ADAS suite adds real-world protection for daily commutes.

Comfort: A spacious cabin, front-row massage seats, and refined noise control (just 68.3 dB at highway speeds) help deliver a smooth and peaceful ride for both driver and passengers.

Intelligence: Inside, the EX5 is powered by the Flyme Auto cockpit—featuring a 15.4-inch touchscreen, 13.8-inch HUD, voice control (10 languages), and L2 ADAS with 360° panoramic parking and transparent chassis view.

Design: Signature features include flush electric door handles, a panoramic sunroof, and antibacterial interior materials. Its clean silhouette signals a more modern, wellness-minded SUV experience. As an EV, it qualifies for a green plate under the Philippine EV Incentives Act.

Geely Okavango Elite: Built for Big Days and Bigger Families

At PHP 1,368,000, the Okavango Elite is a spacious 7-seat hybrid SUV with Geely’s signature multi-role versatility. It’s the only model in its segment with seven fully independent seats, offering flexibility across family, work, and adventure uses.

With over five configurable layouts and a maximum cargo space of 2,050 liters (equivalent to 20 large suitcases), the Okavango easily adapts to changing needs—from school runs and carpooling to long-haul trips or business deliveries.

Key upgrades include refreshed exterior styling, a more refined interior, a wide-angle 360° camera system, and a high-strength steel framework for better protection. Its hybrid engine delivers both performance and efficiency, while its green plate status provides coding exemptions and mobility perks.

Stronger Support for Customers and Dealers as Geely Marks Six Years in the Market

This event also marks the beginning of Geely Philippines’ celebration of its 6th anniversary in the local market. In addition to announcing promotional programs for the newly launched Geely EX5 and Okavango Elite, Geely Philippines has also introduced special care initiatives for owners of certain older model, as well as a customer referral program, all aimed at further enhancing user value.

Furthermore, Geely Philippines announced increased dealer incentives for the Coolray and Emgrand models. This move is intended to help dealers offer better value to consumers while building a more friendly and sustainable partnership, ultimately benefiting car buyers across the Philippines.

“These cars aren’t just feature-rich. They’re built with insight into how Filipinos actually move,” Yu said. “It’s about being smart, relevant, and ready for the roads we drive every day.”
